Education
We have extensive, detailed experience of providing services to the education sector. Working with nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and further education providers, we have a broad range of Clients in this field.
A significant part of our workload is made up of education projects and we have worked on various projects from single class room extensions through to complete new schools. Our work in connection with the London Borough of Haringey 'Building Schools for the Future' programme has provided invaluable experience of managing large programmes of work.
We are working for University College London, and Essex and Brunel Universities as Quantity Surveyors, Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Employer's Agents and CDM Co-ordinators.
We have experience of complex laboratories, student halls, libraries, lecture theatres and support areas.

WILKINS BUILDING
Works have been proposed to the Grade 1 listed Wilkins Building to form a new exhibition gallery within the Octagon on the ground floor of the Wilkins Building to provide a new focal point for the whole building.UNIVERSITY OF ESSEX
The project involves the extension of the existing Library to provide circa 6,200m² additional space.ROCKERFELLER LIBRARY
The scheme as designed by Wilson Mason and Partners involves the creation of a new, updated and revitalised multifunctional space and facilities in the library on the 1st floor at 23 Queen Square House.
WILTON PLAZA
The project comprised the construction of a 158 Nr student residences as part of a mixed used scheme development by Land Securities. The site uses solar hot water heaters to provide the hot water.
SUFFOLKS PRIMARY SCHOOL
New dining hall and kitchen facility which also provides new meeting space along with outdoor covered teaching and play area.
PUPIL SUPPORT CENTRE
Construction of two storey classroom block and hall with changing rooms. Refurbishment and remodelling to form teaching spaces, offices, internet café, dining hall etc.
EASTBURY INFANT SCHOOL
The project comprises a major refurbishment and extension of the existing occupied school facilities
BURNT OAK SCHOOL
The project comprises the construction of a new single storey extension to the existing school building at Burnt Oak School.
NOTLEY 6TH FORM CENTRE
The Client, Governors of the Notley High School retained our Practice as Quantity Surveyors and CDM Co-ordinators in the Scheme comprising the construction of a new 6th Form College, together with associated drainage, external works, mechanical and electrical services.FELMORE PRIMARY SCHOOL
This project was procured under the ECC SmarteEast Framework to provide a new Junior School extension. This replaced the existing building which was gradually deteriorating due to movement in the ground caused by clay shrinkage.
HORNSEY SCHOOL FOR GIRLS
The Scheme involved the provision of a new LRC and Office/Administration facility, together with refurbishment to create 16 - 19 spaces and ICT upgrade of the School.
FORTISMERE SCHOOL
Construction of a four storey Music block together with remodelling and refurbishment of existing areas, including associated demolition, drainage, external works and incoming services.
TETHERDOWN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Creation of a new three storey classroom block connected to existing school via a segment shaped 'hub' housing the main staircase, lifts, new school hall and catering kitchen.
HIGHGATE WOOD SCHOOL
Creation of a new LRC and a new Dining Hall link building, in addition the creation of New Class room space within the LRC block as well as the refurbishment of existing teaching space.
WESTWOOD PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Children's Centre Initiative is a nationwide programme that aims to translate the government's Every Child Matters agenda.
PHILIP MORANT 6TH FORM COLLEGE
Our Client, the Governors of the Philip Morant School and College retained our services as Quantity Surveyor on this Scheme. As part of a Consultant Team through Barker & Associates, Potter Raper have been fully involved since the inception of the project.LOUGHTON STAPLES INFANT & JUNIOR SCHOOL
The project entailed the demolition of the existing Horsa and the new build construction of a two storey extension.
BOWER GROVE SCHOOL
The project comprised the construction of a new single storey bad-bearing brickwork classroom extension, a new steel-framed sports hall and small extensions to provide office and storage facilities.
UNIVERSITY OF ESSEX
This project comprised the construction of a three storey concrete framed extension, providing academic/administrative office space and seminar/teaching rooms for the University's Health & Human Sciences Department
STOCK CONDITION WORKS - SALTASH HALL
We were given a brief along with the Services Consultant to survey and agree a scope of works and specification to renew the services within an existing 1960's 180 bed halls of residence to prolong the life of the building by another 10 years and within a defined budget.
DARWIN MAJOR REFURBISHMENT
The scheme as designed by Wilson Mason involves the reconfiguration and refurbishment of existing laboratories and office spaces and the refurbishment of the Darwin Lecture Theatre to create a new state of the art facility.
ROBERTS BUILDING UCL
Works involved the formation of a class 10000 clean room for a Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) machine within the Roberts Building at the University College London together with the formation of a new plant room.
RAMSAY HALL
Construction of new 91 bedroom student accommodation block comprising of external works, shared bathrooms and kitchens.
